Employment Support
Every person’s struggles with substance use and addiction are unique—and so is their path to recovery. Whatever that path may include, research shows that rehabilitation is more likely with the right support and stable employment.
At CARE we provide individual professional and emotional support to those seeking to change their lives for the better. This includes employment services with a demonstrated record of helping those in recovery find competitive jobs.
What Does CARE's Employment Support Look Like?
Our employment support program is built around an evidence-based model called “Individual Placement and Support” or “IPS Supported Employment.” This approach has been studied for decades, and independently evaluated through dozens of randomized controlled trials. On average, 60% of individuals participating in an IPS Supported Employment program find a competitive job during the 18 months following completion. (By comparison, only about one-quarter of the people receiving other vocational services find a competitive job in the same period).[Source]
CARE’s Employment Support program includes:
- rapid job search assistance
- resume building
- interview preparation
- application assistance
- educational resources
- vocational and career assessments
- job coaching
CARE’s current employment support program is aimed at Macomb County residents, ages 18 to 24, with a past history of opioid use, and a demonstrated willingness to work. If you are a Michigan resident who doesn’t entirely fit that description, contact us and we’ll help connect you to services in your area.
